Reflective Surfaces
Creating reflective surfaces can instantly bring appeal to any object. This photoshop tutorial will show you how to add a reflective surface. What's even better is that it can be used on objects or on text. The choice is up to you.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Open up a new document in Photoshop. Make sure the size of the canvas is big enough to hold your object and the reflection below it.
2. Create a new layer. Name it "Object" and paste the object onto the "Object" layer. For the purposes of this tutorial, we are using an ornament.

3. Create another new layer. Name it "Reflection" and paste the same object into the "Reflection" layer.

4. With the Reflection layer selected, goto Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical (from the main menu).
5. Now goto Edit > Transform > Perspective.
6. The shape handles should appear around the reflection object to indicate you are in "Perspective" mode. Begin tweaking your object's perspective by clicking and dragging the bottom right shape handle to the left. This will cause the object to have the affect that it is coming out toward the viewer.

7. Hit the Enter key to exit "Perspective" mode and apply the changes you have made.
8. Add a layer mask to the "Reflection" layer.

9. Apply a black to white gradient to the mask.

10. Hold the shift key while applying the gradient to keep the line straight. Go from bottom to up.

11. You should now have your reflective surface.
